A depressed British writer named Christian begins writing on his
typewriter. He moved to the Montmarte district of Paris to become a writer among
members of the movement. His writing skills allow him to finish proposed show
and arrives at the Moulin Rouge. He meets a woman, Satine who is the famous
star. They fall in love each other and continue seeing each other under the
pretense of rehearsing Satine’s lines. One day, people find that Satine does
not have long to live. Satine tells Christian that their relationship endangers
the show, but he counters by writing a secret love song to affirm their love
which is Come What May. Satine and Christian affirm their love before she dies.
A year later Moulin Rouges has closed down, and Christian is writing the tale
of his love for Satine, a ‘Love that will live forever’.
I like this movie, because each of these character is seen in terms of
their love own fantasies about themselves and also I enjoyed their
romantic love story. The only reason I give three stars for this movie, some of
scenes made me get bored and go off to do something else. Maybe because this
movie has its own style that shows overacting. Also the love story was romantic,
but at the same time it was too boring. A main character, Satine died and their love
story became tragedy.I was thinking it is such a typical love story. I recommend this movie,
only if you like to watch fancy, glamour and colorful stage of Moulin Rouge.
I love that you are reviewing older movies. I also love watching movies from years ago, but never know which ones to watch so now i have something to use as a guide!
